Eid Ul-Fitr, Islam (Fri - 26 May 2017)

Eid-Ul-Fitr ("Little Feast") is an Islamic holiday which marks the end of the month of Ramadhan during which Muslims fast all day. The fast is broken by the Eid-Ul-Fitr feast.

It is believed that during the month of Ramadhan the first verses of The Qur'an were revealed to Prophet Mohammed. For Muslims this is a time for reflection, reconcilliation, and self-control.

Eid-Ul-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar which relates to different dates in Western calendar. On this day people wear their best or new clothes and attend a prayer service at mosques.
